Finally getting around to blogging the rest of last 2014's weddings!
First up it's Louise and Chris from September. Avid readers may recognise some of the guests from this Hampshire wedding as Louise is Kayleigh's sister (whose wedding I photographed back in 2013). It was great to meet the same faces again a year or so on.
The couple and their families were very relaxed and just wanted a nice record of the day. Both Chris and Louise (along with many of their friends and family are runners, Louise competed in the marathon for England at the Commonwealth Games in 2014) and as a keen runner myself it was nice to meet so many like minded people throughout the day. That said Louise's 10 mile run on the morning of the wedding did put me to shame, with the groomsmen going for a more sedate 5k parkrun at the same time.
The ceremony was at the stunning Hospital of St Cross in Winchester and the weather was perfect. The grounds were a lovely backdrop for some groups and more informal shots.
The celebrations then moved onto Itchen Abbas Village Hall where the running theme continued. Chef for the day was a friend of the couple who was also a guest so disappeared at key moments to prepare the food and then hopped back into his seat leaving his team in the kitchen to finish off. It was interesting to get into the kitchen and see how much work goes into the food for a wedding and I have to say Al deserves his Michelin star as it was delicious.
The evening was rounded off with a band and barbecue outside as the partying continued into the night with some interesting dance moves from some of the guests.
